This photo is one of the many plushies I own. This plush, as well as many of the others, were found through wandering a store and getting attached enough to feel guilty if I didn’t bring them home. This image, the animal, does tell a story as I tend to make up stories behind every stuffed animal I have. Specifically, the one depicted is called “Honey Bear”, along with his companion “Orange Cat.” I imagined Honey Bear to have lumberjack vibes, though as he is a new addition to my plush group I haven’t fully fleshed out his story yet. In terms of artistry, my stuffed animals do assist me. Through creating their stories, I gain some creativity that I can siphon to my other projects. Additionally, I’ve used my plushies as prompts if I hit an art block. For instance, one prompt I enjoy is designing a human character centered around a specific stuffed animal. Having a consistent resource of prompts and creative outlets has greatly helped me develop as an artist.
